This is a laid back cafe/club/pub and sometime hosts live bands, but it's popular for meeting old friends and new. The cafe bar is well stocked and they serve cocktails.
It's open Monday to Thursday 10am to 1am, Friday and Saturday 10am to 2am, and Sunday 11am to 1am.
This small and cosy cafe/restaurant serves excellent food at nice prices. There's quite a selection of dishes to choose from. The cuisine is international, with strong German influences. Beware - the portions are enormous! Adding to the atmosphere is the great mix of people; everything from school children and students to families, couples and businesspeople. Cafe Legere is a very popular place, so if you want to be sure of getting a table, make reservations!
'Spaetzlepfanne' (similar to casserole). Small pieces of meet mixed with onions, bell peppers and spaetzle (the German pasta) in a creamy white (wine) sauce, overbaked with a thick layer of cheese, everything served in a pan! 'Blinis' (Russian pancakes) is another favourite of mine!
Directions: Cafe Legere is situated in a small street between the Martinstor and some of the university's main buildings.
