Located in one of Freiburg's historical buildings near Schwabentor this restaurant offers you delicious Italian food which is of better quality than the food of "mainstream" pizzeries. You can feel this difference when you enter the restaurant already.
It is clean, light and not shabby. But you can also see this when you take a look at the menu. The menu is very extensive and consists of typical Italian dishes, as well as of a broad range of seafood. The prices are though also higher than in other "downtown" Italian restaurants, but look for special offers when you enter it and you can save much money. Among the specialties of "Zum Storchen" are self made noodles, their delicious desserts and the salad buffet. The service in the restaurant is also better than in other Italian restaurants. Certainly not a place to go every day. But if you want to invite someone special for a great dinner take this restaurant into account.
I chose a pizza with shrimbs and garlic. My mum took Tagliatelle del Norte (selv-made noodles with aspiragus and salmon) and a salad from the buffet. Both dishes were very tasty and cost with juice 19 Euro.
