Freiburg is a somewhat green city and as such does not cater that well for the car driver. That said, there are several large parking garages and outdoor parking areas, which we list here.
Note also that if you are alone or in a small group and plan to stay the whole day, try the Park and Ride scheme. This scheme works in a way that allows car drivers to park their cars in the designated parking lots outside of the city centre for free, then, a short distance from the car park is a tram stop where you can take a short tram ride to the city centre. You can get public transport discount tickets for larger groups for the day.
Note that many of the garages have very strict opening and closing times to it is really worth finding out before you park your car exactly what time they are going to close and if you are leaving your car the whole nice, how much you will have to pay and when they first open. Many of the garages will close their doors for more cars at 20:00 and not open again until 07:00 the next morning, so it is really a vital piece of information. You can find out more about opening and closing times of the garages at the website: ParkInfo.com - which is in German.
