 Freiburg, the main urban centre in the Black Forest, is the first city in Germany to feature a Nordic Fitness Park.
The park is located on the Schlossberg near the old city centre of Freiburg, an ideal site for attractive routes due to its location, terrain and easy access by foot from several tram stops.
The park comprises a network of specific, designated routes with varying lengths and degrees of difficulty.
It has its own signposting system which is also designed to facilitate orientation for visitors to the area, categorised in the customary skiing colour codes of blue (easy), red (medium) and black (advanced) to provide information on the degree of difficulty of the individual routes. |

The Feldberg is the highest mountain in the Black Forest with an altitude of 1493 metres.
Visitors can reach the top of the mountain either on foot or by taking the easy way up with the 900-metre long Feldberg cable car.
Feldberg is also the largest and oldest nature reserve in Germany, home to rare animal breeds (chamois, capercaillie) and sub-alpine plants (carline thistle, arnica). |

No other valley in Southern Baden combines the contrasting elements of the peaks of the Black-Forest, its rocks and ravines, with the charm and beautiful blossoms of the orchards and vineyards in the Breisgau Region as the Glotter valley does.
The varied countryside offers a wide range of hiking trails. If you simply want to take a stroll, you can delight in the waters of the river Glotter or enjoy the countryside from the flat vineyard trail higher up the valley.
For more the ambitious, experienced hiker, there is a tour of the 1.243 metre-high Kandel. There are also some less strenuous circular hiking tours around the vineyards, through shady woodland trails where you can discover and enjoy nature in a relaxed way. |

The Schauinsland is the closest mountain from Freiburg with an altitude of 1248 metres.
The longest cable-car (3,6 km) in the region leaves from the valley to the peak of Schauinsland. From the cable-car you get a fantastic view over Freiburg and as well the Rhein Valley until the French Vogese. At the top of Schauinsland you will find various attractions for every taste of leisure activities. The mountain offers a wide range of biking trails and hiking routes.
The Black Forest Farmhouse Musem "Schniederlihof" in the village "Hofsgrund"and also the public Silver Mine Museum on the top of the mountain are offering guided tours all season. |

Hiking around of both monastery villages offers beautiful panoramic views.
The places of historical interest in St. Peter include the baroque monastery church with its library dating from the Rococo period and in St. Märgen there is the baroque monastery church and the museum centre with its clock and regional museum |

It is almost the center of the region Feldberg-Hinterzarten-Titisee and is therefore the ideal starting point for the wide range of hiking tours.
There are a number of attractions close at hand including the "Hinterzarten Moor" nature reserve, "Kesslermoos" and the "Bisten". You can walk to the Höllen valley, Ravenna gorge and Titisee in an afternoon and the Feldberg is only a day`s hike away. |

The climatic health resort of Schluchsee lies at 930-1300 metres above sea level on the blanks of the largest lake in the Black Forest.
It offers an incredible variety of sporting activities and is surrounded by outstanding natural beauty. Visitors can enjoy hiking along 160km of marked hiking trails, which lead to some vantage points with a number of open views over the region´s lake. |
