The hostel and the youth guest house are located in the eastern part of the city, on the edge of a forest in a nature preserve.
Take tram #1 in the direction of Littenweiler to Romerhof. Upon exiting the stop, look for the HI sign and follow them to the hostel, about a 8 minute walk (it's across a field). |

The hostel is located near the historic part of freiburg and easy to reach. 15 minutes walking distance from the main station: From the Freiburg-Hauptbahnhof (mainstation) walk to the pedestrian and streetcar bridge that spans over the tracks and take it left. The bridge heads into the 'Bertoldstrasse'. Follow the 'Bertoldstrasse' straight through the city center. At one point it turns into the 'Salzstrasse', keep going straight until you go through the 'Schwabentor' (old tower building where 'Salzstrasse' meets ‘ Schwabentorring' ) . After passing through the gate, cross the street so that you are on the other side of the 'Schwabentorring'. Head down this street and take the next left, 'Kartäuserstrasse'. Go about 200 m and the ' Black Forest Hostel' n° 33 will be on your left, the yellow house in the back courtyard. |
